Tips for Success

  • The group stage interview is a collaborative exercise designed to assess how well candidates work in a team setting. Teams of five will collaborate for forty-five minutes on a hypothetical business case, focusing on problem-solving, creativity, and effective communication. While there is no quantitative math involved, the exercise emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and how ideas are presented and refined collaboratively. At the end of the session, each team will deliver a five-minute presentation summarizing their findings to a second interviewer, showcasing their ability to communicate information and present solutions.

  • This is a candidate-led case interview designed to assess your ability to structure and solve problems independently. While the case does include a quantitative component, it’s equally focused on understanding how you approach the problem, prioritize information, and think critically. We’re not just looking for the right answers but also for how you arrive at them. You’ll guide the discussion, analyze data, and propose solutions. Relax, stay curious, and enjoy the challenge!

This video is a perfect example of how the structure of your case will look like. You will not need to use nearly as much economic jargon as Erik does (as mentioned at 4:05), but if you can great! Do note Erik’s ability to explain his thought process and how he drives the case. You will not be given any complex data/graphs, but rather simpler verbal information that you can write down and do math with. The math in your provided case will be “cleaner” than what is given here, but it’s probably best if you brush up on multiplication/addition/subtraction on paper, as no calculator will be allowed.

    Casing Books:

The NYU Stern MBA MCA Casebook

The Duke MBA Consulting Club Casebook

Going over the first couple of cases (ideally with another person acting as an interviewer) will help you prepare - practice makes perfect! The second half of the cases in these books are much more in-depth, you will not be required to know that level of math or economic concepts so just use the first 7-8 cases.

Once you’ve practiced these cases and know your basic economic formulas, you should be good to go!

  • This interview is to assess your skills, interest, and potential in CS, DS, AI, and related fields. If you do not have much prior experience in these fields, that is completely okay - we are looking for a desire to learn and a potential to grow equally as much as skill! The majority of the interview will consist of a deep dive into a technical project you have worked on. The goal of this interview is to identify candidates with a strong foundation in technical and collaborative work as well as a desire to learn.

Be sure to select a project that showcases your technical abilities, project planning skills, and/or your ability to work in teams. Make sure you can confidently explain the process of creating it from start to finish. Good luck!

  • The behavioral interview is the final step in our process and focuses on understanding your past experiences and how they align with our values and culture. This two-on-one conversation is based on your resume and highlights situations where you’ve demonstrated key skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. It’s an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to share what makes you a great fit for our team!
